by R.M. Clarke
When conceived this vehicle had no particular purpose but once in the hands of the public it was not long before there were waiting lists. Little effort was put into developing the car and it sold purely on, and in spite of, it's reputation. Its character was enough to keep it going until a four-door model was introduced in 1981 and from then on it was improved.
After 15 years it was still recognisable as the same vehicle but it had been developed far beyond what its original designers had anticipated. This is a book of contemporary road tests, specification and technical data, new model introductions, long-term tests, driver's impressions, off roading, rallying, conversions, military applications, buyer's choice.
Models covered include: V8, 4-door, Schuler, Automatic, Vogue, Janspeed.
Brooklands Books Ltd "Road Test" books provide a wide range and collection of road tests, comparison tests, new model introductions, long term tests, and other articles taken from the world's leading motoring magazines. The Gold Portfolio series have 172 - 180 pages with approximately 300 illustrations.
