Placing Your First Order
Placing an order with Computer Outpost is easy. There's no need to create an account. We also accept orders by telephone, fax and mail.
First you will need to browse or search for the items you would like to order. Search boxes are located at the top of most pages of our store. You will also find links to browse by subject and more detailed searches on most pages. When you find an item that interests you, click the title or name of the item to see its product description page. Here you will find more information about the item, including an availability estimate of how long it will take before the item will usually be dispatched.
If you don't find what you're looking for in our store, you may want to contact us to see if we can get it.
Adding Items to Your Shopping Cart
If you want to order an item from Computer Outpost, click the "Add to Cart" button on the item's product description page. Once you've added an item to your Shopping Cart, you can continue shopping until your cart contains all of the items that you want to order. You can access the contents of your Shopping Cart at any time by clicking the "Shopping Cart" icon at the top of every page of the store.
Proceed to Checkout
Take a moment to review all of the items you've placed in your shopping cart. If you decide that you don't want to purchase a particular item, click the "Remove"e; button next to that item. You can also make changes to the quantoty of each item. These changes will not take effect until you press the ""Update" button. When you're ready to place an order for everything in the Shopping Cart, chose one of the checkout options below the shopping cart list.
The instructions below outline each step of our online order form. If at any point you encounter difficulty or receive an error message, please consult our troubleshooting tips or contact us for assistance.
Enter a Shipping Address
Tell us where you would like to ship your order. Incorrectly entered addresses may unnecessarily delay shipment or result in the order being lost. We will not accept claims for losses in transit where the address was incorrectly entered.
Enter a Billing Address
If paying by credit card your billing address must match the address that appears on your monthly credit card or bank statement. For other payment types please enter your home address (or business address if ordering for a business). If your billing address is the same as your shipping address simply click "Use shipping address".
Provide a Method of Payment
Let us know how you would like to pay for your order. We accept American Express, Diner's Club, MasterCard and Visa credit cards. We also accept cheques (checks), money orders, or bank drafts only if in Australian Dollars. You can also check out and pay for your order through PayPal. All orders must be prepaid. If you're paying with a credit card, enter the number without spaces or dashes.
Review and Submit Your Order
You will be presented with a summary of your order. Check the accuracy all of the information you provided and make any necessary changes. When you are ready, click the "Place Your Order" button to submit your order. Once you place your order and our operators receive and check it we will send you a confirmation e-mail message. We will also send you an email to let you know that your order has been sent, or if there is any problem with your order or if it cannot be fulfilled within the usual dispatch times published on the Web site.
We accept the following forms of payment:
You can pay by any of the above credit cards using our on-line order form which uses a 128-bit SSL secure server. You can also phone, fax or post your order to us with your credit card details if you prefer.

There are no surcharges when paying by credit card. For purchases outside of Australia, your credit card provider will automatically convert the amount in Australian Dollars to your local currency. The credit card provider may charge a fee for currency conversion.
Your credit card will not be charged until your order is to be shipped and will only be charged for the items dispatched at that time. See our Back-Order Policy.
We accept payment by PayPal and you can checkout using PayPal by chosing that checkout option on the shopping cart page.
Purchasers within Australia can deposit funds into our Commonwalth Bank account. Upon receipt of your order and confirmation of product availability we will email you with our bank account details.
Cheques (checks), Money Orders and Bank Drafts
We do accept personal, business and bank cheques (checks), money orders, and bank drafts but only when in Australian Dollars. We cannot accept any of these forms of payment if in any other currency. Print and complete your order and email it to us with your payment.
Cheques (checks), money orders and bank drafts, whether posted or depositted directly, must be cleared before we can dispatch your order.
You can search for products using any or all of the following search criteria:
Enter one or more keywords that describe the product that you are looking for. This could be part of a book title or a word that may be used in the description of the product. results will depend on whether you have selected Search in titles only which searches titles and sub-titles, or Search in titles and descriptions which also searches in the product description.
You can enter all or at least the first part of an ISBN when searching for a book. Do not use spaces, dashes or any other symbols.
Enter all or part of an author's name when searching for books written by that author. For best results you may wish to try just using the author's surname.
Enter all or at least the first part of a books publisher.
Enter a maximum price to limit results to products equal or below that price. Price should be in Australian Dollars (AUD).

Refunds and Returns Policy:
If a product received is not what was ordered, or if it does not comply with the description published on this web site, or if your order is on back-order and delivery and you do not wish to wait, or if a product becomes unavailable. We will gladly provide you with an exchange, replacement or refund.
If goods are received in faulty order or later develop a fault due to defect in manufacture during the warranty period, we will gladly replace them. Depending on the circumstances you may also be entitled to a full or partial refund.
Shipping times on this site are published as a guide only.
At Computer Outpost we ship products immediately if in stock, or immediately after we receive them.
Where goods are unavailable for dispatch within the advertised usual dispatch time they will be placed on back-order. In that case we continue to order the back-ordered product until the customer gives us instructions to replace or refund the product.
All prices are in the currency Australian Dollars (AUD).
Prices include Goods and Services Tax where shipping is to be within Australia.
Despite our best efforts, a small number of the items in our store may be mispriced. If we discover an error, we will either, if an item's correct price is lower than our published price charge the lower amount and ship the item, or if an item's correct price is higher than our published price, we will, at our discretion, either contact you for instructions before shipping or cancel your order and notify you of such cancellation.
