There are three options for repair manuals for your VL series Holden Commodore.
If you have the Nissan-sourced 3.0-litre normally-aspirated (RB30E) or turbocharged (RB30ET) engine then all of the manuals are suitable. For V8 models you will need the Ellery Publications manual. The Ellery manual is also the only one to cover the utility, Statesman and HSV models. For our New Zealand customers with the 2.0-litre six-cylinder engine, you will need the Gregory's manual. The Holden factory manual set is no longer in print. The original set consisted of five separate volumes but these were later combined into two books. Supplements were also available for the turbocharged engine, V8, 2.0-litre engine and the HSV SS Group A.Ellery Publication's "How to Restore Your Commodore" contains a lot of the same information as the repair manuals - including maintenance and rebuilding - but covers extra topics such as body and interior restoration, and has a chapter on specifications for the HDT and HSV models. The Computer Outpost
